About Sylk's Angels
Founded by Ms. Lacy Saunders, Inspired by Ms. Sysharle' L. Kozischek A.K.A Ms. Sylk in 2004
Sylk's Angels In The Zone Inc. is a True Inclusion, inter-generational Performing Arts 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
*Sylk's Angels have been on hiatus since 2016 with the closing of our physical location. Sylk's Angels is currently working on becoming an all Inclusive Performing Arts Mobile Workshop. Yes! We are going Mobile, whereby all individuals "LIVING" with different abilities “what others call (Handicap/mentally/physically challenged etc.,”) will experience the joy and unconditional love interacting side by side with others of "Traditional Abilities“ what others call ("NORMAL“ ). Our goal is to reach more individuals and their families in order to provide resources, embrace and empower our "differently-abled" communities.
Populations we also serve include our Seniors, Veterans, and LGBTQIA+ Communities.
Our Mission
Sylk's Angels provide a safe environment utilizing the many aspects of the performing arts for all individuals to be creative while opening doors of awareness, possibilities, and productivity in our world of "Different". Also by assisting one another in this process whereby learning positive self-expression, compassion, and the value of giving back through music, dance, and art in our communities.
A final component of our organization includes our Seniors, Veterans, and LGBTQIA+ in our communities to participate as mentors in the overall process of inclusion, diversity, and empowerment.
We Don't Want Perfection, We Want Possibilities
Over the years, Sylk's Angels have brought together many individuals of all ages, genders, non-optional levels of self-developments and cultural differences. While "LIVING" with different and traditional abilities in the spirit of strengthening the values of communities.
Our workshops emphasize the importance of health and wellness, through literacy and cultural awareness as a gateway to all of our individual's spiritual, physical, and intellectual growth. Empowerment through the arts is the key to all possibilities.
In short, Sylk Angels strives to affect positive changes in the daily lives of others.

The Closing Of Our Academy
September 15, 2016 - was a difficult and sad day for all as Sylk's Angels was ordered to closed our doors. Saying goodbye to our beautiful site and our talented participants of eight wonderful years was devastating. The amazing progress, fun, friendships and love will live forever in our hearts.
In 2008 we created a magical, safe, inclusive, and barrier-free performing arts academy with no funding at all.
Location: In The Heart of the Boogie Down Bronx is where we served the true meaning of diversity, true inclusion, and unconditional love.
Now! 2023 it's time to spread our wings again, find our displaced angels and their families, as well as meet new angels.
