Meet Miss Sysharle' Lakenna Kozischek

Miss Sysharle Lakenna Kozischek, known as Miss Sylk, was born on January 21, 1992, at 7:17 a.m. a very cold Tuesday morning. She suffered a stroke at birth. Doctors predicted she would only live until five years old in a vegetative state, suggesting she be placed in a facility for comfort until her transition. Defying all odds, she is now 33 years old and living her best life. Her journey of resilience and overcoming adversity fuels her mission with Sylk's Angels, creating a space where individuals of all abilities can thrive, be celebrated, and find empowerment.

Evolving to Serve More Communities

Sylk's Angels In The Zone Inc. has been on hiatus since 2016 with the closing of our physical location, but we are now transforming to reach even more individuals. We're excited to announce that we are becoming an all-inclusive Performing Arts Mobile Workshop! This new initiative will allow us to bring the joy of the arts directly to communities nationwide, reaching individuals of all abilities.

Embracing Every Ability, Every Community

Our goal is to empower and embrace individuals of all abilities. Whether living with physical or mental challenges, or labeled as "different," we strive to create a space where everyone can interact, learn, and thrive side by side. Our workshops and arts programs for individuals will also serve seniors, veterans, and the LGBTQIA+ community, ensuring that no one is left behind as we expand the power of inclusion.

A Safe Space for Creativity and Growth

We offer a supportive environment where individuals can explore their creativity through performing arts. Our workshops open doors to awareness, new possibilities, and productivity in a world that embraces differences. Through music, dance, and art, participants learn positive self-expression, compassion, and the value of giving back, enriching our communities. In short, we aim to bring positive change in the daily lives of others.

Inclusion, Growth, and Wellness

Empowering Communities

A key component of our organization is the active participation of Seniors, Veterans, and LGBTQIA+ individuals as mentors and performers, contributing to the ongoing process of inclusion, diversity, and empowerment in our communities.

Uniting for Growth and Diversity

For years, we have united individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities—both traditional and non-traditional—in a shared commitment to strengthen community values. Our workshops embrace differences, foster personal growth, and encourage the celebration of diversity.

Health, Wellness, and Growth

Our workshops prioritize health and wellness through literacy and cultural awareness, acting as a gateway to spiritual, physical, and intellectual growth for all participants. Empowerment through the arts opens the door to endless possibilities for personal transformation.

Beauty "IS" In The Different

True beauty shines in the uniqueness of every individual. We believe in celebrating differences and fostering an environment where all can express themselves freely through the arts. It's about embracing diversity and empowering every person to find their own strength and voice.

The Closing of Our Academy

On September 15, 2016, we were forced to close the doors to our beloved academy. After eight years of growth, creativity, and strong community connections, the farewell was emotional. All of the beloved participants were displaced. Yet, the bonds we formed and the memories we made will remain in our hearts forever.

A New Chapter in 2025

In 2025, we are no longer flying with one wing and it's time to reconnect and reach new heights. We are excited to bring our mission back to life with mobile workshops, reconnecting with those we've lost touch with and welcoming new angels and participants. Our 20th anniversary was a great success however we still have work to do. Your support will help will mark a powerful comeback, celebrating resilience, community, and the arts.
